I have seen many students of KY doing gong courses and learning to play as performers or therapists. It could be fine and funny but not necessarily KY.

KY Teachers in the Golden Chain as taught SSS Yogi Bhajan and it is presented in the original manual he approved. Gong is played within the class structure as a tool to support kriya, relaxation, meditation, the final goal of kundalini awakening and to the teacher.
